Ipswich have won their first game of the season. And the Premier League newcomers did this against a big team in the league, Tottenham.

Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap were the players who scored for Ipswich in the first half. Tottenham had Rodrigo Bentancur equalize in the second half but could not score another equalizer against Ipswich.

After the match, Coach Ange Postecoglou bluntly criticized Ipswich's time-wasting tactics.

"I think the Premier League is gradually going in this direction. It's quite funny but I like the Premier League not because it's like that.

You can watch your teams in Europe and be annoyed by time-wasting. But it's part of the game here now. We can't do anything about it.

We'll try to minimise it, because we don't do it and we want the game to be played normally. And maybe we shouldn't give our opponents the chance to do that."

Postecoglou also admitted that Tottenham didn't start the game well and presented themselves with a mountain of challenges.

"We were quite passive. We didn't have the right rhythm and intensity. I take responsibility for that. The instability we've had this season is my responsibility. That's something I have to try to fix."

With the defeat to Ipswich, Tottenham are languishing in 10th place in the table. The gap to the top four is now three points.
