Bukayo Saka is overrated

According to former MU and England defender Paul Parker, Bukayo Saka is overrated and prone to injury.

The England winger remains a key figure for the Gunners, although he has not been at his best this season. The 23-year-old has scored just three goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this season, with Mikel Arteta's side struggling to get going.

Paul Parker believes the Gunners are missing a player similar to the one they lost in the summer when Emile Smith Rowe moved to fellow London side Fulham. The former United defender is clearly a big fan of Smith Rowe, but may not like Saka and certainly not Gabriel Martinelli. He said:

“I think players like him (Smith Rowe) are what Arsenal need more than Martinelli and Saka. Saka is a bit overrated and he always looks injured, especially when Arsenal are behind in a game.”

Parker really likes Smith Rowe, but admits Arsenal were probably right to let the midfielder go. He said: “He’s a fantastic player, but I don’t think Arsenal regret selling him. He wanted more game time and he didn’t get that at Arsenal.

I think he is better than Martinelli, although they are not the same player. He is so good and the way he moves always creates chances for himself and his team-mates. He is a great player with a bright future.”

Saka is currently struggling with injury after being substituted in Arsenal's draw with Chelsea. He has been withdrawn from England's squad for the Nations League games against Greece and Ireland, and it is unclear whether he will return to play against Nottingham Forest this weekend.
