Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney believes Marcus Rashford has set a bad example for young players at Manchester United.
The England international has struggled for form in recent months for United, while he has been completely dropped from the England squad. The 27-year-old had a great 2022/23 campaign, but since the start of last season he has fallen out of form and has appeared discontented and sometimes unfocused.

Troy Deeney feels this is a problem and this has been reflected in the actions of other young players in the United squad. Garnacho chose not to celebrate when he scored against Leicester City last weekend, with captain Bruno Fernandes revealing that it was because he felt he had lost the faith of some fans.
The former Watford striker believes it was Marcus Rashford who was at fault and that Garnacho has learned his bad attitude from the England striker. Deeney told talkSPORT: “To be honest, he’s not at the level we know he can be at.
When I saw what happened to Garnacho at the weekend, he scored and was a bit upset because some fans decided to criticise him or something. I think that comes from Marcus too. If you are a young player, you admire him. But as a young player, they also learn bad things from him.”
Rashford will be hoping to continue his starting line-up under new manager Ruben Amorim, who will make his United debut after the international break, away to Ipswich Town. United then host Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League before taking on Everton in the Premier League.
